What is an Embedded video?

Embedding a video is hosting it at a different location like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc., and linking it to a website. One might doubt the existence of embedded videos when uploading videos to a website are good enough. I’ll tell you why embedding a video is a far better concept than uploading the said video.

Why is Embedding a video better than uploading a video?

When embedding a video, you’ll find yourself in a better place. For instance, you have uploaded a video on YouTube and linked it to your website. YouTube allows you to upgrade or downgrade the video quality. It has a long list of advantages. Having more users watch your video is sure while uploading the video directly to your website ensures you any of those.

Embedding a video makes sure that the video has better quality and plays faster, which is good for your overall search engine optimization. When talking about search engine optimization, commonly known as SEO, embedded videos are like the backlinks that help you bring your website on top of search engine results, thus increasing views.

The next best thing is that embedded videos are cost-effective, while you know that is not the case with uploading videos. So it’s safer to say that embedding videos are way better than uploading videos.

There are many ways in which you can download embedded videos, out of which I’ll be sharing a few.

How to Download Embedded Videos?

You might think that downloading embedded videos is not easy with all those discussed. This is where you are wrong. It is easy to download embedded videos, but there are various ways to be done. I’ll start from the most straightforward method and go on from there.

Download Embedded Videos from websites directly.

Some websites embed the videos in their mp4 player. These types of embedded videos are relatively easy to download. If that is the case, you will not be able to find a download button outright, although there’s no reason to think that it can’t be downloaded.

All you have to do is follow the steps below.

# Step 1. Find the video you want to download.

# Step 2. Right-click on the video, and you’ll find the ‘Save video as‘ option that you have to click.

You have now downloaded the embedded video to your device.

Download Embedded Videos using Developer Tools

When websites don’t provide you with an option to download embedded videos directly, there’s always another way to have them downloaded. The following easiest way is downloading using developer tools. I’m going to do it with chrome, although you can try it with Edge and Firefox.

# Step 1. Launch the browser and direct it to the target video’s website.

# Step 2. Hit the f12 key or press Shift+Ctrl+I to enable the developer tools option.

# Step 6. Now that it is done open the command prompt, right-click, and paste the cURL.

Just don’t hit Enter yet. Look for ‘-H Range: ‘followed by range quotes. If you find it, remove the instance, as it might not get the whole video downloaded. At the end of the command, type ‘-insecure’ and finally type ‘-thenameofyourvideo. thevideoformat’ and hit enter.
